E-mail Exercise for IST 128

The following may be done from any email account the student chooses:

1. Create a text file using Notepad that lists your name.  Save the text file, naming it attachment.txt (Notepad will automatically add the .txt extension).

2. (a) (5 points) Send an email to me at wpegram@nvcc.edu.  Do not put a period at the end of the address
(b) (10 points) The subject matter of the email should be NOVA Email Account and the course number.
(c) (10 points) The body of the email message should tell me whether you had any problems getting and accessing your email account at NOVA and, if so, what those problems were, and what have done to deal with this problem.  If you have had no problems, just say hi.
(d) (15 points) Attach the attachment.txt file you created in step 1.

2.  Address Book - Enter the names and email addresses of at least 3 of your classmates into your address book of your email program.  Addresses for students can be found from my email to you listing students and their email addresses.  If you cut and paste them from the email into your address book, it will avoid typing mistakes.
(a) (20 points) Send a message to these recipients (use your address book).   CC wpegram@nvcc.edu   If you are using Hotmail, make sure you check the box indicating you want the message saved.
(b) (10 points) Choose an appropriate subject for the email.
(c) (20 points) The body of the message should tell them in a couple of sentences what you found interesting in either the January 24 or February 7th class.

3. Copy and Paste -- After you have sent the above two emails, go to your "sent messages" or similar folder, and copy and paste both messages (including header if possible) into an email to wpegram@nvcc.edu Title the email message appropriately (10 points).
