As a Marymount instructor, I have created a class called ED554A at turnitin.com.
1. At www.turnitin.com, enroll in the class ED554A - To do this, follow the following steps: click on New Users (upper right) (assuming you are a new user) and enroll in class id number 1729959 using the password given to you in class and email, you then enter an email address (you can use whichever address you like) which will serve as your username, enter a password you create, and then you will enter your first and last name.
2) One enrolled, you will see an assignment labelled miscellaneous. For this, please submit one or more papers which you think might have some overlap with existing material. A good candidate for such a paper is where you have quoted other sources. [If you don't have such a paper, quickly create a Word document by pasting material from several websites and use that.] Once you submit the paper, an originality report is generated -- this is not instantaneous - you may have to come back later to see it. You can run an originality report in several ways - by including/excluding material in quotes and by including/excluding bibliography.
3) At the top of the originality report, click the link to save the report to the location of the other files you have uploaded to your web site - the originality report will be an HTML file. Create a link to the originality report and upload both files to your website. Feel free to run the report in different ways and link to and upload the resulting html files.
