Assignment 2
Do one or more web pages (.html files) that tell the instructor about the web and database aspects of your team project. The content of these web pages is the important thing -- don't worry about their appearance. Try to be straightforward, as if you were explaining this to me orally. As much as possible, I want to be able to understand what you are saying without asking for clarification.
Among the things you might cover:
Are there aspects of the project which are not part of the website -- for example, are there databases that you are designing/creating/maintaining which aren't used by the website? If this is the case, answer the following things separately for the project and the website
In a sentence or two, what is the purpose of your project/website?
Being as specific as you can, what are the goals of the project/website?
What is the information that will go into the database(s)?
For the team that already has a website, briefly explain what it currently does and your ideas/plans to change it. Be as specific as possible.
1 . Each team should decide its own submission rules or process -- e.g., whether there is a single submission, multiple ones from the team, review process, etc. The submission(s) should indicate briefly indicate the rules or process followed.
2. My intent is that this assignment not have considerable weight in your final grade, although its weight will be affected by the number of assignments in the course, which is uncertain.
3. The purpose of this assignment is so that (a) you think through how this course relates to your project, and b) communicate this to me to help guide me for the remainder of the course.
4. I may very well ask that your submissions be revised as we proceed through the course and learn more.
Please FTP your submission and email me the link by 9PM Wednesday, September 18. I plan to create a link to your submission and add it to the class page so that all class members can review it. Feel free to propose modifications to this assignment.
