Revised February 8, 2000
Formatting Text with Word Pro
Fonts (p. 79) - Fonts with a TT next to them are TrueType fonts; those with a printer icon next to them are built into the printer (all of mine were TrueType fonts; I didn't have any of the latter)
Text Properties InfoBox (p. 80) - You can leave it open if you think you are going to be doing a lot of formatting and you can doubleclick on the title bar to shrink it and double click to enlarge; text doesn't note that, as in any Windows application, you can move it my clicking on the title bar and dragging to another location
Browing Fonts and Sizes with the Toolbar Buttons (p. 80) - A shortcut for increasing the size is F4 key and decreasing the size is Shift F4
Changing the Default Font and Point Size (p. 80) - Class exercise to walk through steps
Changing Text Attributes - couldn't get Hidden and Protected to work (but didn't try altering options on initial screen)
Inserting Special Typographical Symbols - Class exercise to walk through steps. For SmartCorrect, I used File, User Setup, SmartCorrect setup -- make sure entry is relatively unique so that substitutions don't occur where you don't want them (p. 85)
Formatting Paragraphs and Documents
Indenting with Shortcut Keys, Text Properties InfoBox, and with Ruler - Class exercise; couldn't get small dot leader to work
Types of Tab Stops - Left, Centered, Right, Numeric
Line Spacing
Numbered and Bulleted Lists
Page Backgrounds and Watermarks - some useful effects
