Intro Class Topics:
- create web pages using Notepad, view them in a browser, and revise them.
- format text and specify color of text and background
- create links - absolute, relative, email, and to a specific point in a page
- use images as backgrounds in web pages, as part of web pages, and as destinations for links
- use tables for more sophisticated page layouts
- transfer files to the Internet using an FTP program
- use a free HTML editor (Netscape Composer) to create web pages faster, with fewer errors, and with focus on content

- Animation - Flash - available for free 30 day download from Macromedia, $99 academic or $199 as part of Studio MX 2004, can also be used within a web page to update part of page without reloading entire page
- Client-Side Scripting - JavaScript
- Image Creation and Editing - Fireworks, Freehand, Illustrator, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro
- Server-Side Scripting and Database-Driven Web Pages - Active Server Pages, CGI Scripts, or Cold Fusion
